Subaltern Voice in Photography
Francis and Mukhopadhyay trace the roots of subalternity within the photographic apparatus by investigating the power of photographic technology to quantify time, space, and bodies. By equating the aesthetics of Photography to a postcolonial understanding of language, they further explore the complex relationship between subaltern voices seeking agency, issues of race, and the production of photographic representation.
